Many highly qualified women, in particular, are familiar with this feeling: despite objective successes, doubts remain as to whether one’s own achievements are truly ‘deserved’. Recognition is put into perspective, successes are attributed to chance, whilst mistakes, on the other hand, are overemphasised.
This workshop offers a safe space to better understand imposter syndrome, reflect on one’s own patterns of thought and behaviour, and develop new, sustainable perspectives. The focus is not on shortcomings, but on resources, personal strengths and the conscious recognition of one’s own competence.
Objectives:
- Strengthening self-efficacy and inner resilience
(developing a realistic, sustainable self-image; achieving greater inner stability when dealing with performance demands, assessments and competitive situations in everyday university life). - Clarity regarding one’s own skills, achievements and values
(Refining professional and personal strengths; consciously contextualising achievements and gaining guidance for confident decision-making in academia and university management). - Dealing confidently with self-doubt and perfectionism
(Recognising typical ‘imposter syndrome’ thought patterns at an early stage, questioning them constructively and replacing them with empowering, action-oriented perspectives). - Concrete ideas for sustainable personal development
(Taking away practical self-coaching approaches that can be applied directly in everyday working life).
