The goal of this 90-minute online presentation is to show ways to present your knowledge and skills on your resume in a way that clearly demonstrates your suitability for the position being advertised. 

The presentation will be conducted in English and will include an interactive Q&A session for participants to ask questions. Additionally, participants will have the opportunity afterward to have the speaker review their application materials and receive personalized feedback.

What are the key differences between job applications in academia and on the non-academic job market?

A brief overview of job search and application processes, specifically:

• How do I even find suitable positions outside of academia?
• How should I read a job posting? What should I research beyond what’s in the posting?
• What documents should be included in the application package?
• How do I organize the writing process?
• How do I develop an appropriate design and structure for my resume?
• How can I effectively highlight my skills and how well I’m a good fit in my resume?

Document review/coaching:

following the event, participants can apply by sending a short letter of motivation to postdoc-office@tu-clausthal.de to request an individual document review with counseling. 

The session typically lasts one hour and can be expanded to cover topics such as strategic career planning, applications for postdoc positions, professorships, and non-academic positions, grant proposals, international careers, and more.
