Between day-to-day business, writing grant proposals, working on publications, preparing for conferences, and so on and so forth... when is there supposed to be time left for your own research?
Dr. Diana Hitzke knows these situations from personal experience, and as a professional development specialist and coach, she can provide strategies in this workshop on how to successfully “get the research done.”
The workshop addresses the issue that troubles many researchers: there’s never enough time for research.
From the desire to experience a state of flow for several days in a row to a half-hour wait at the airport during which you quickly finish the paper for the conference, there are a multitude of possibilities we want to explore together.
Where are my personal distractions? Which productivity strategies work best for me? How can I set clear priorities and block out what’s unimportant? There are different answers and solutions to these questions. We’ll explore productivity—individually, within research institutions, and with an eye toward our own well-being. We’ll examine where we lose focus or become distracted, and create space for mindfulness. Finally, through small experiments and “atomic habits,” we’ll try to develop new habits.
The goal of the workshop is to integrate individual strategies into your daily work routine that promote greater focus and productivity.
The workshop can be combined with one-on-one coaching sessions; you can apply for these after the workshop at postdoc-office@tu-clausthal.de.
