For most students, finding a suitable role within a company is a priority once they have completed their degree or PhD. Just as choosing a degree programme that matches one’s interests and abilities at the start of one’s studies is a decision that requires careful consideration, so too is the choice of a company.nterested in the topic are cordially invited!

d-fine is a European consultancy specialising in analytical and quantitative challenges and the development of sustainable technological solutions. With a team of over 1,500 staff with backgrounds in the natural sciences and many years of practical experience, the firm delivers tailored, efficient and sustainable solutions for more than 500 clients across all sectors of the economy and the public sector. In doing so, d-fine consistently pursues a comprehensive sustainability strategy and has been certified as a climate-neutral company since 2019. On 23 April 2026, the two experts from d-fine, Dr Sebastian Lück (Senior Manager) and Dr Michael Krause (Senior Consultant), will present the company, discuss current challenges in the consultancy sector, and outline career entry opportunities. Both speakers have close ties to the mountain town: Dr Sebastian Lück completed his A-levels at the Robert Koch School (RKS) in Clausthal, whilst Dr Michael Krause obtained his PhD in Industrial Engineering at Clausthal University of Technology.

In addition to graduates and PhD students in physics and mathematics, we are particularly seeking expertise in computer science, economics and engineering (e.g. mechanical engineering or process engineering).

The talk, followed by a discussion, will begin on Thursday 23 April 2026 at 5:00 p.m. in the University Library cafeteria (Leibnizstraße 2). All prospective graduates and researchers interested in career opportunities at d-fine are warmly invited!
