Further information and registration for consultation

The statistical consulting services are aimed at employees of Clausthal University of Technology, in particular doctoral students at the university.

Research projects in all disciplines often require sound statistical methodology, both in planning and implementation as well as in the subsequent evaluation and interpretation of data. Accordingly, it is often advisable to seek advice from a statistician at an early stage.

Ideally, consulting services should be utilised as early as the planning phase of the work. Especially when data is to be collected, a prior calculation of the sample size, for example, can help to achieve meaningful results. The use of consulting services in the context of a dissertation should be discussed with the supervisor.

The service includes methodological and statistical advice, which may cover the planning, implementation, evaluation and interpretation of results. The implementation of an evaluation strategy by the responsible consultants is not possible within the scope of a simple consultation. However, if there is mutual interest, cooperation within the framework of the research project can of course be established.

In order to get the most out of the consultation, basic knowledge of statistics is required. You can acquire this knowledge by attending the (Engineering) Statistics I + II courses, for example.
The consultation is free of charge.

Please be aware of data protection concerns and never send unsolicited data.

Further information and the registration form for the statistical consultation can be found here.
