From ‘developing an idea’ to ‘submitting a paper’.
Publishing your own results, whether it's your doctoral thesis or your next article, is the currency of modern science. It may not be the most popular task for doctoral students, but it is a crucial one and plays a significant role in determining which research opportunities will be open to you in the future.
Publishing your own results, whether it's your doctoral thesis or your next article, is the currency of modern science. It may not be the most popular task for you, but it is a crucial one and contributes significantly to the research opportunities available to you in the future.
This course will introduce you to the process of academic writing. To deepen and apply this knowledge, we will write a basic manuscript based on your research data (this can serve as the basis for a journal article).
The A-Z of Scientific writing:
• Developing a clear main message
• Setting priorities in the writing process
• Structuring and logical composition of the text
• Creating meaningful graphics
• Establishing a writing routine
• Collaborating with multiple authors
• Submitting and responding in the peer review process
Bring your draft paper or research data that you are using to create a basic manuscript to this workshop (data from a master's thesis, for example, is also acceptable). During the course, there will be various exercises in which you will apply what you have learned to your own text.
